Biography
Prof. Matsuda graduated Kyoto University in Biology, and obtained DSc at Kyoto University in Biophysics. Then, after Research Associate at Nippon Medical School and Senior Scientist at Japan Fisheries Agency, he became Associate Professor at Faculty of Science (Biology), Kyushu University, and then became Associate Professor at Ocean Research Institute, the University of Tokyo. In December 2003, he became Professor of Yokohama National University. Leader of GCOE “Global Eco-Risk Management from Asian Viewpoints” (2007-2012), previous President of the Ecological Society of Japan, Director of Japan Society of Ocean Policy, previous President of the Society of Population Ecology, Visiting Professor, Kuroshio Science Unit, Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, Kochi University, and Pew Marine Fellow https://www.pewtrusts.org/en/projects/marine-fellows/fellows-directory/2007/hiroyuki-matsuda
