Dr. Tomomi Inoue is a plant ecophysiologist, especially with over 20 years of research experience in freshwater wetlands and mangrove ecosystems. She is a Chief Senior Researcher at National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan (NIES), and a principal investigator of the research project, “Biological responses, acclimations, adaptations, and resiliencies to environmental changes”, in the Strategic Research Program of NIES, “Harmonization with Nature Research program”. Her main research interests encompass responses and acclimations of plant respiration to environmental factors, mutualistic relationship between plants and microorganisms, and seedling dispersal phenology of mangrove trees.
