【Purpose of the event】There is a growing consensus that we should not only protect pristine natural environments but also conserve the nature that encompasses human communities. The importance of nature within urban areas is also on the upswing. In an era of declining human populations, the human-wildlife conflict is becoming increasingly severe, necessitating a “new deal for nature and people”. We aim to create an opportunity for participants to engage with experts actively involved in the Convention on Biological Diversity, wildlife management, and education for sustainable development (ESD). Together, we will reevaluate the “coexistence between people and nature.”
